“is cellulite permanent”

Water helps flush out toxins that hide in the fat layers beneath the skin and make cellulite lumps even more visible. Drink 8-10 glasses of water every day. Hydration also works to plump the skin and make it look less lumpy.

Injectables. Some doctors inject chemicals into the fat layer below the skin to encourage breakdown and make cellulite less noticeable. This procedure is often called mesotherapy. The chemicals used include phosphatidylcholine, aminophylline, hormones, herbal extracts, vitamins, and minerals. There’s little proof these treatments help. Most doctors don’t recommend the procedure because there’s a risk of infection, swelling, rashes, and lumpy skin.

Go for a body shaping treatment. These use lasers, massage rollers and radio frequency energy to break down the fat deposits. They also stimulate the production of collagen in your skin, which leads to a tighter, more toned appearance.

I got myself really thin – too thin actually – last spring in an attempt to rid myself of my thigh fat which only went after the rest of me was looking skeletal. Not only did I have saggy skin to contend with but the cellulite did in fact look worse. I was told to gain back some weight to where the rest of me looked ok and get lipo – but that I was probably going to want a thigh lift as well which not only removes the loose skin but does improve the appearance of cellulilte. I have heard endermologie works but that you have to keep going and getting it. For me it would make more sense to spend the $$ in the lipo and lift and be done w/it. SO I gained some back and and saving $$

If you’re not one of the lucky ones with smooth-skinned relatives, take heart: Genetics is only one small part of the cellulite puzzle; factors like diet, exercise, and maintaining a healthy weight also play a role.

From a standing position, hold a 5- to 20-pound weight in your left hand while keeping your left leg off the ground. Keeping your back and knee straight, reach down to your right foot. Your left leg should automatically go back. Stand back up and repeat. Click here to watch a video.

During one minimally invasive laser treatment called Cellulaze™, a tiny laser fiber is inserted beneath your skin. When the laser is fired, the laser energy breaks up the tough bands beneath the skin that cause us to see cellulite. This treatment can also thicken your skin, which is important. Skin often thins where cellulite forms. Thickening the skin can help reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Some over-the-counter cellulite products may claim to help remove impurities and toxins from the body. But neither their efficacy nor their claims about what causes cellulite are supported by science. Rather, cellulite occurs when underlying fat deposits begin to push through layers of collagen fibers, or connective tissue, under the skin (often in the buttocks and thigh areas, but also on arms, stomachs, and other common trouble spots, as well). Connective tissue can be weakened by hormones, lack of exercise and muscle tone, excess fat, and poor circulation, says New York City-based dermatologist Cheryl Karcher, MD. But the condition is not caused by “toxins.”

Size doesn’t matter. Both thin and heavy women get cellulite. The more body fat you have, the more likely you are to also have significant dimpling. But even skinny women have some fat between their muscles and skin. That’s all it takes for cellulite to happen.

Take a few extra minutes each day to stand up and walk around. It’s as simple as that: get the blood flowing a bit more regularly through those troublesome areas is a simple and effective part of how to get rid of cellulite.

Because it can inspire you even more and give you hope to banish your cellulite over the following weeks and make you realize that you can become a fit and sexy woman no matter where you are at the moment.

Because cellulite is trapped within connective tissues, weight training can remodel the tissue and smooth the appearance of cellulite. Gaining muscle mass tightens the connective tissues and your dimply area decreases. It also boosts your metabolic rate and a faster metabolism causes your body to burn more calories. These are the best exercises to get rid of cellulite fast:

This one’s not exactly true or false, but scientists do seem to be getting better and better at finding long-term solutions for treating trouble spots. The most recent and promising procedure is a surgery called Cellulaze, approved by the FDA in 2012, in which an optic laser melts fat, breaks up fibrous connective tissue and stimulates the growth of new collagen, all through a pinhole-sized incision in the skin.

I am talking about cellulite, which some 80 to 90 percent of women — even Olympic beach volleyball players and supermodel yogis — have. While those oh-so-attractive lines and divots in your fatty bits are in no way harmful to your health, the dermatologists and plastic surgeons who study the condition have nonetheless staged its severity just as they have cancer. From what I can tell, my butt is between stages I and II: a bit of visible orange-peel texture when I am standing, which is more obvious when I clench or grab a chunk (sorry — TMI!). In stage III, you see more ripples on your skin, and stage IV has even more and deeper pits on a larger area of your body, like the surface of the moon in a bad sci-fi movie.

As a bonus, you’ll probably start to enjoy your body for something it can do, rather than what it looks like. Getting rid of your cellulite won’t magically make you self confident. But accomplishing something tough with your body? That might do the trick.

It might stand to reason that in our fat-phobic culture, where even famous backsides (à la Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian) are critiqued, such distinct jelly deposits are so loathed. And cellulite doesn’t only afflict the full-figured. It’s also a scourge of the skinny, not to mention girls as young as teenagers. Despite the vast amounts of time and money that have gone into trying to find ways to dissolve these nuisance nodules—from lasers to caffeine creams—researchers and doctors are still scratching their heads.

Moisturize your skin with a product that contains caffeine. Buy a cream or lotion that contains at least 5 percent caffeine, which is said to improve skin tone and decrease the appearance of cellulite.

This specialized gel formula acts fast on cellulite by targeting the fat cells. It promotes* the process of lipolysis (production of fat cells). It quickly penetrated into your skin, and it doesn’t require any massage. It contains active ingredients such as Cellulite fix complex, caffeine, cell active complex and Indian forskolin. Each of the ingredients plays a different role to reduce* or prevent cellulite. The cell active complex reduces* the appearance of cellulite and provides a well-sculpted look. Caffeine improves* the skin tone and overall texture of the skin. Cellulite fix complex makes your skin appear firm and lifted. It has to be applied twice per day to achieve smoother and firmer looking training will help remove cellulite because it tones muscles under the skin and creates a more firm appearance. Do exercises intended for thighs, buttocks, abs or where ever you see the unwanted cellulite.

Connective tissue can be weakened by hormones, lack of exercise and muscle tone, excess fat, and poor circulation, says New York City-based dermatologist Dr. Cheryl Karcher. But the condition is not caused by “toxins.”

The role of topical treatments in cellulite removal is divisive (See Side Bar 2 for all ingredients included in cellulite creams). An initial challenge of any topical cream is that it must be able to penetrate the skin and dermis to reach the target fat tissue before being absorbed by the tissue. Although numerous topically applied creams are advertised as cellulite diminishing creams, there is minimal data substantiating any of them. The majority of these creams function to promote lipolysis of fat. Methylxanthines (e.g., caffeine, aminophylline, and theophylline) are agents that stimulate lipolysis. In the review by Wanner and Avram (2006) the authors note that the research with methylaxanthines shows modest decrease in thigh circumference and/or subcutaneous fat thickness, but no reduction of cellulite.

Although liposuction can improve body contouring, it is not performed in the subcutaneous layers of fat that contribute to cellulite because of severe side effects (e.g., excessive bleeding, swelling, scarring). For this reason, liposuction is not used to treat cellulite. In fact, the procedure actually can worsen cellulite and lead to a more uneven appearance.
